Baked Apples

27 Days to a  Healthy Body Image: Day 19

Can you feel the crisp in the air.  Children are running and jumping in piles of colorful leaves.  It is baking season.  YUM!  Instead of breaking out a full on apple pie, try this simple baked apple for an after-school snack or evening treat!

Baked Apples
4 apples (I prefer Jonathan or Gala for baking)
2 Tablespoons butter
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 Tablespoon oats

Cut apples in half.  Cut out the seeds and blossom end of the apple.  Place the apples on a cookie sheet.  Take a small peice of the butter and put it in the center of the apple, where you had cut out the core.  Divide the brown sugar, cinnamon and oats between the apples, sprinkling each ingredient into the center of the apple.

Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
